Chief Investment Officer
Charlie Deeks joined PIRET in 2016 as Vice President, Investments and was promoted to Chief Investment Officer in 2020. His responsibilities include sourcing, structuring and executing investment opportunities. Charlie has over 14 years of real estate experience. Prior to joining PIRET he was Portfolio Manager for Manulife’s Real Estate Private Funds and earlier worked in the global investments team at Oxford Properties and in research and valuation at Altus Group. Charlie started his career in real estate appraisal at Altus Group and has a B.A. (Hons.) in Economics from Queens University.
Chief Operating Officer
David Owen joined PIRET in 2016 as an Asset Manager and was promoted to Vice President, Asset Management in 2018, before being promoted to Chief Operating Officer in 2020. He is responsible for the developing and executing on asset level and investment strategies, overseeing the performance of the individual assets and driving the valuation of PIRET’s North American portfolio. David also oversees PIRET's leasing and property management operations. David has 10 years of real estate experience, and prior to joining PIRET he worked in the investments team at a retail private equity real estate fund manager. David begin his career as an analyst at a privately managed real estate funds group focused on investing in and lending on Canadian urban real estate. He has a Honours B.A. (Economics) from The University of Toronto and is a CFA Charterholder.
Senior Vice President, Finance
Kantaro Goto joined PIRET in 2016 as Vice President, Finance, and was promoted to Senior Vice President, Finance in 2020. He is responsible for the accounting and financial reporting of PIRET's properties and portfolio. Kantaro has over 17 years of real estate experience. Prior to joining PIRET he worked at Build Toronto in their finance team and had previously been the Controller at Retrocom REIT. Kantaro was also an analyst at First Capital Realty and has a Bachelors of Commerce degree from the University of Toronto and is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CMA).
Vice President, Leasing
Jonathan Rovira joined PIRET in 2013 as Director of Leasing for Eastern Canada and was promoted to Vice President, Leasing in 2018. He is responsible for all aspects of leasing across PIRET’s North American portfolio. Jonathan has over 14 years of real estate leasing experience. Prior to joining PIRET he held leasing positions at GE Capital Real Estate, Oxford Properties, and IGRI Advisors. Jonathan started his career at Colliers International and has a B.A. in Economics and Urban Geography from the University of Toronto and is a Broker of Record from the Real Estate Council of Ontario.
Vice President, Property Management
Deanna Ramoul joined PIRET in 2013 as a Senior Property Manager and was promoted to Director of Property Management for Eastern Canada in 2015; she then was promoted to Vice President, Property Management in 2020. Based in Vaughan, Deanna is responsible for all aspects of Property Management across PIRET’s real estate platform. She has over 18 years of real estate experience across a variety of institutional owners and third party managers, the most recent being GE Capital Real Estate Inc. Deanna has a Legal Assistant Diploma with Honors from Canadore College and an RPA Designation with Bomi International.
Vice President, Corporate Operations
Eliza joined PIRET in 2020 as the Vice President of Corporate Operations. She is responsible for the day-to-day management of the organization including strategy, human resources, technology, corporate process and procedures. Prior to joining PIRET, Eliza was the Vice President of Strategy for LoyaltyOne’s Air Miles Reward Program and earlier worked at SickKids Foundation as the Director of Strategy. Eliza began her career as a consultant with Oliver Wyman and Kearney. She holds a BA (Honors) and MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business.
